Youngest son of Mr and Mrs R.L. McCALLUM of Apsley, Vic.  Educated at Apsley Public School, Glen took an interest in sport and played football and was keen on cycling.  In civilian life he was a labourer and enlisted in July 1940.  He had one brother in the 2nd AIF and 5 brothers-in-law in camp.
