Ernest Edwin Jones
Lake Terrace Cemetery-SX3643 Sergeant E E Jones, 2/27 Infantry Battalion, 9th September 1953, Aged 48. Dearly loved and sadly missed by his loving wife Mabel and sons. Born in London in 1904, Ernest Edwin Jones came to Australia on the ship 'Largs Bay' in 1922. He first worked on a farm near Hynam, then later at Naracoorte. In 1940 he enlisted in the Australian Army. During World War 2 he served in the Middle East and New Guinea. In 1944 he married Mabel Dawn Lockwood and they had two sons. Ernest also had four sisters back in England.
