Son of Henry and Ellen May FARRANT of 57 Braund Road, Prospect, SA.

Death was due to injuries sustained as a result of a collison between the motor cyle that Lance Corporal Farrant was riding and a motor car.  Death was instantanious.

HIS DUTY NOBLY DONE

Mrs. E. Farrant, of Braund Road, Prospect, has been notified that her son Lce-Cpl. Henry Raymond Farrant, 22, of the provost corps, was killed in a road accident on July 14.  Lce-Cpl Farrant, who had been employed by Onkaparinga Woollen Mills for several years enlisted in March 1940, and was in the fighting in North Africa, Greece and Crete.

He was educated at the North Adelaide Primary School and Adelaide High School.  He began his football career with North Adelaide Colts, and later played with the association team and then the North Adelaide league team.  He won a cup in 1938 and trophy in 1939 and was awarded a cup presented by H.C. Waddy for brilliant play.
