"...436790 Aircraftman (later Flight Sergeant, 463 Squadron) Stanley Arthur Abbott, of Cottesloe, WA. Aircraftman Abbot was a machinery salesman prior to enlisting in April 1943. He trained in Australia and England and was promoted to Sergeant in November 1943. On 11 August 1944 he was promoted to Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) and attached to 463 Squadron. On the night of 31 August 1944, Flt Sgt Abbott and 7 other crew members, (6 RAAF and 1 RAF) were on a training flight over Scotland in Lancaster PD259. The aircraft crashed at Kingussie, near Inverness. All on board were killed. Flt Sgt Abbott was 21 years of age." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
