Biography

Archie Constantine ASLAN was born on 8th January 1910 in Sandstone, Western Australia

His parents were Nicholas Constantine ARSLAND and Josephine CARELSEN - surname changed to ASLAN - originally ASYLANAGLOU

He married Phyllis A WALDOCK in 1936 in W.A.  After his death she remarried in WA in 1951 to Arthur F RUSSELL

Archie enlisted on 5th Jan 1942 with the Australian Army - posting on death (1 Australian Parachute Battalion)

He died of accidental drowning in the Nepean River (Hawkesbury) on 17th July 1943 while on a training exercise and is buried in Richmond War Cemetery, Plot C, Row D, Grave 1, Richmond, N.S.W.

IN MEMORIAM - The West Australian - Perth  16th July, 1946

ASLAN - in loving memory of Archie, who was accidentally drowned while with paratroops, July 16, 1943, loving brother of Frank, Marie, May, Beryl, Jack & Ellen.   This is a day of remembrance and one we will never forget

IN MEMORIAM - On service, ASLAN.  In loving memory of my greatest pal, my brother Arch who was accidentally drowned . Inserted by his loving brother Jack and wife Grace.

We think of him in silence.  We often speak his name
