"...NX14552 Private Keith Athol Barker, 2/18 Battalion, of Copmanhurst, NSW. Pte Barker enlisted in May 1941. Throughout 1941 the 2/18th Battalion was training and preparing defensive positions, in Malaya and Singapore, against the increasing likelihood of invasion by Japanese forces. Singapore fell to the Japanese on 15 February 1942 and Pte Barker was listed as missing and presumed dead the same day. He was 21 years of age." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
