Pilot Officer Biden 402718 in Kittyhawk AK745 of 3SQN was on his third mission of the afternoon when he attempted to crash-land near Gambut Main airfield due to engine trouble
He was still carrying his bomb-load and the bomb nose arming rod hit a pile of sand around some camel thorn and the bomb exploded
