Biography

George Gordon St. John BIGGS was born on 13th November 1908 in Rocky Bluffs, Queensland

His parents were James St. John BIGGS and Elizabeth Jane HOLLIDAY

George married Ada May GANE on 26th December,1936 in the Presbyterian Church, Herberton, Queensland

He was living in Vine Creek, Ravenshoe  whene he enlisted in Brisbane on 30th June 1942 with the Australian Army - his posting at death was with the 7 Australian Infantry Training Battalion (Private)

George died on 18th August, 1942 in Goondiwindi from heart failure & pneumonia following on from measles

He was originally buried in Goondiwindi Cemetery and later re-interred in Lutwyche Cemetery, Queensland

OBITUARY

The death occurred in Goondiwindi on August 18 of Private George Gordon St John Biggs, late of Millaa Millaa. He leaves a Wife and threee children to mourn their loss.  He was recorded as buried with full military honours at Goondiwindi Cemtetery 0n August 30
