Gordon Frederick Bone
Gordon Frederick Bone was born on 30 December 1907 in Lismore, New South Wales, the son of John Frederick Bone and Adelaide Soden Bone (nee Dobbyn). He had two older sisters, Adelaide and Florence and a younger sister, Muriel. He joined the Royal Australian Navy on 2 July 1928, aged 12. He joined HMAS Sydney II in June 1940 and died on 19 November 1941, along with all his crewmates, after the German Raider HSK Kormoran sank the ship during action.
