Ray Boultwood - Nowra Connection
While not immediately obvious from the basic data parameters, Ray Boultwood spent many years in Nowra NSW before the war, employed as a bank teller.
It was here he met local girl, Anne Miriam "Midge" Robson, and they were married in Nowra on the 9th July 1932.
At the time of Ray's enlistment, the pair were living at Mosman, however, Anne returned home to Nowra prior to him embarking.
In September 1944, Anne's family published a notice in the SMH under the 'Roll of Honour' heading, advising of Ray's passing. It also states Ray was the "dearly beloved husband of the late Midge Boultwood." Anne had passed away at a private hospital in Sydney, four months earlier.
When Nowra streets were named in Honour of WW2 Fallen, Ray Boultwood was included in their number.
