Son of Bertram Horace and Agnes Philomena Bowd of Brighton East, Victoria
Accidental gun-shot wound, on-duty - Bowd was shot with a rifle which was believed to have been unloaded in the guard-room at Mildura (an examination of this incident is contained in the book “The sky was their battlefield” by Ken Mackenzie Wright).
