Private John Briggs
Private John (Jack) Gordon Briggs (A.M.F.), of Palmwoods, passed away after a serious operation in a Brisbane Military Hospital. He was recently in valided home from New Guinea. The youngest son of Mr. E. Briggs and the late Mrs. Briggs, Private Bri|gs was very popular in the district. Prior to his association witih the Army he had identified himself most actively with sporting associations in the district. Two brothers, Lloyd and Tom, are serving with the A.I.F. The flag at the Palmwoods Memorial Hall was flown half-mast yesterday in memory of the late soldier. The funeral moved to the Lutwyche cemetery.
