Biography

Samuel Anzac BROWN was born on 4th May, 1916 in Bingara NSW

His parents were Elias Christopher BROWN and Mary Ann O'DELL

He enlisted in the Australian Army on 27th June, 1940 - he was a Lance Sergeant with the 2/18th Australian Infantry Batalion

Samuel died from wounds received on 28th July, 1942 - he is buried in Kranji War Cemetery in Singapore and also has a Memorial Headstone in Bingara Cemetery in NSW - he is also commemorated on the Australian War Memorial - He was a prisoner of war
