His parents were Amos Henry BUTTSWORTH & Amy Florence JONES
He enlisted first in the Army and was discharged on 24th August, 1943 (101st General Transport Company) and then enlisted in the RAAF - his last rank was Leading Aircraftman with the 10 Bombing & Gunnery School Royal Canadian Air Force, Mount Pleasant
