Neal Broughton Gray BYRNE was born in Drummoyne, NSW on 15th January, 1908
His parents were Richard BYRNE & Victoria Beatrice Caroline Augusta GRAY who married in Sydney in 1895
He married Marjorie Hazel GOLDING on 30th September, 1936 in St James Church, King St, Sydney
He enlisted in Paddington, Sydney on 6th May, 1941 as a Private with the 2nd/30th Infantry Battalion
He was taken prisoner of war on 16th February, 1942 and died of Illness in Borneo on 12th January, 1945 - no known grave
His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & the Labuan War Memorial
