Dakota A65-34 (VH-CUF) of 36 Squadron RAAF crashed while performing airdrop duties to Australian ground forces near But in Wewak, New Guinea
There were two survivors: Squadron Leader Lewis Keith Jackson 261723 RAAF and Private Joseph George Law TX13582 (T24441) of 2/160 Australian Supply Depot Platoon
