SERVICE CASUALTIES
The death has occurred on active service of Chief Petty-Officer Sid Carter, 29, son of Mr and Mrs K. Carter, Kane st, West Brunswick. CPO Carter was educated at Glenhuntly SS and Melbourne Technical College, where he obtained leaving honours. He was employed at E. C. Lacey's engineering works for some years before joining the RAN in 1939. He served on HMAS Hobart in the Middle East and Australian waters. His widow and son live at East Brunswick.
