Hubert Gladstone MALES was born on 14th May, 1890 in Rosewater, South Australia
His parents were Fred. MALES and Rachael Emma BLOMFIELD
He enlisted with the Australian Army on 26th July, 1915 - he was with the 10th Battalion, 11th reinforcements - Unit embarked from Adelaide on HMAT Benalla on 26th October, 1915
He was wounded at Moquet Farm on 3rd September, 1916 and died from those wounds on 5th September, 1916 at No. 12 General Hospital, France - His last posting was with the 13th Field Company Engineers.
He is buried in St. Sever Cemetery, Rouen and also commemorated at the Australian War memorial - his mother Rachael also presented The anglican parish church of St Pauls in Adelaide with a silver chalice in honour of her son who made the supreme sacrifice.
