Roger Staniford CHANDLER was born in Brisbane on 11th May, 1919
His parents were John Beals CHANDLER & Lydia Isabel PARISH
He first enlisted in the Army (QX7415) on 25th Jauary, 1940 and was discharged on 3rd June, 1943 (2/2 Machine Gun Battalion)
He re-enlisted on 4th June 1943 with the RAAF (435535)
Roger died on 21st November, 1944 in a Flying Battle in North West Europe and is buried in the Durnbach War Cemetery - his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial
His brother Keith John CHANDLER (SN 405296) RAAF of the 14 Service Flying Training School died on 20th August, 1942
