John Steer CHRISTOPHERS was born on 14th October, 1897 in Melbourne , Victoria
His parents were John William CHRISTOPHERS and Amelia PAULIN
John enlisted on 28th March, 1913 with the Royal Australian Navy as a Boy Seaman and was discharged on 1st June 1919 Service No. 2695 -Rank Able Seaman
He married Lillian Mary HARDWICK in 1927 in Perth, Western Australia - 4 known sons, Max, Bob, Ken & Ray
During WW2 John joined the Citizens Military Forces on 29th January, 1942 - Service No. C146275 - he was discharged on 1st August, 1943 - he was with the 4th Ordnance Tank Depot Workshop AAOC - Posting at discharge
John died from Illness on 16th June, 1947 at Cottesloe, WA and is buried in Karrakatta Cemetery, Presbyterian, row HA, grave 762
His wife Lillian died 2nd Jan. 1969 - also buried Karrakatta
