Lawrence Norman CONSTANTINE was born on 7th July, 1911 in Fremantle, Western Australia - his name is also listed as Laurence on some records.

His parents were Norman Alfred CONSTANTINE and Amelia Ann BAXTER who married in 1907 in W.A.

Lawrence enlisted on 18th December, 1940 with the Australian Army - he was a Sapper with the 2/6 Field Park Company.

He married Annie Clindinning ELLIOT in 1941 in W.A. - after his death Annie remarried to a John McGREGOR in 1948 - she died in 2003 in Perth, W.A.

Lawrence died of Illness on the Thai Burma Railway while a prisoner of war of the Japanese  on the 24th August, 1943 - he is buried in Thanbyuzayat War Cemetery, Myanmar and also commemorated on the Australian War Memorial. The Roll of Honour for Thailand Burma Railway and the Roll of Honour at Cowranup, W.A.
