Son of Ralph Godfrey St. Cyprian Dawson and Dorothy Dawson of Victoria Park, WA
Warrant Officer Godfrey Douglas Dawson 29325 was stationed near Gunnawarra Station just outside Mount Garnett in Far North Queensland during WW2 and became friends with the owners.
He returned to the property for his honeymoon with his new wife, Lillian
Godfrey and Lillian drowned while swimming in a waterhole on the property after Godfrey got into difficulties and Lillian also drowned trying to save him (this information was provided by the current generation of owners of the property - Giles and Sally Atkinson - who kindly allowed me access to the small private cemetery on their property).
