On the 25 Mar 1942 P5329 from 455 Sqn (UB-J) RAAF aircraft took off from St Eval in Cornwall to return to its base at Wigsley. It had completed a gardening mission off Lorient, France and had to be diverted to St Eval due to bad weather. On return to Wigsley, the starboard prop came off and the aircraft crashed at 17.43hrs and burst into flames at Sparks farm Watchfield 2 miles East of Highbridge Somerset killing all the crew.
