DEATH OF AIRMAN
Late L.A.C. Clarrie Elliott
We regret to have to record the death of L.A.C. Walter Clarence Elliott, which occurred at Richmond Hospital, as the result of an accident. His wife, who was Miss Lilian Murray, and resides with her mother in Petit Street, was advised by the police about midnight on Tuesday that her husband had beeninjured and was in the hospital.Mr.s. Elliott went to Yass Junction to catch a train and while waiting there the sad news was conveyed to her that her husband had passed away. She left for Sydney later. The late airman,"Clarrie" Elliott, who was born at Gundaroo, would have been 30 years old next month. He joined the R.A.A.F. some three years, ago and was trained in Australia. He went to England and Scotland and was there for twelve months, returning to Australia last August. His family were looking forward to his being home on leave at the end of the month and the sad news of his death came as a great shock and has aroused widespread sympathy in their great loss. Deceased was the son of Mrs. H. Oldfield, of Gundaroo. Prior to enlisting at Yass, deceased was employed at Burrinjuck and lived at North Yass. In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by four young children, the oldest being eight years of age. One child predeceased him.
