Flying Officer Evelyn Graeme Ivor Etherington 403804 & Flying Officer Thomas Claude Smith 409008 were killed in the loss of Wirraway A20-633 of Number 452 Squadron RAAF east of Sattler Strip, NT
They were part of a search team for Leading Aircraftman Maurice Evan Wise 88327 who had gone missing on a hike in the Black Swamp area near Darwin on the 18th of November 1944 - he must have been located as he survived the war and was discharged in January 1946
