Sergeant Fleming 432634 from Number 5 Service Flying Training School Uranquinty was killed in the loss of Wirraway aircraft A20-583 at Mangoplah, NSW when during instrument flying practice, the engine seized and during the forced landing the aircraft overshot the field, struck a telephone post and overturned. The other crewman survived: LAC Nesbitt 433616 (discharged from the RAAF in March 1946)
