Son of Cyril Armitriding Frith and Helen Edith Frith of West Perth, WA
Plane was Beaufort A9-194 was circling near Jervois Bay in preparation to land when it banked into a steep turn with vapour trails from its wing tips and its nosed dropped. Power was put on but the plane dived, crashed and exploded on impact. Probable cause is unknown
