HIS DUTY NOBLY DONE
GILCHRIST.— In proud and loving memory of our dear Son and Brother, QX12291, Tpr. J. W. Gilchrist, 2/7 Cav., A.I.F., returned, killed in action in the
battle of Sanananda, 30/12/1042.
No one he loved was by his side
To hear his last faint sigh;
Or whisper Just one loving word,
Before he closed his eyes.
Inserted by his mother and family.
