LAC Gooding of Number 11 Elementary Flying Training School suffered severe injuries when he dived into a shallow pool at Benalla, Victoria on Xmas day 1942 - he died at Number 6 RAAF Hospital in Heidelberg two days later (cause of death information obtained from member’s NAA casualty file)
