Son of Arthur John and Marion Selina Heazlewood, of Springfield, Tasmania, Australia.

HE GAVE HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS. ALWAYS REMEMBERED

Sapper Clarence Charles Heazlewood, who was previously reported missing, has been killed in action. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs S. M. Heazlewood, Heatherleigh, via Scottsdale, Tasmania.  Sapper Heazlewood enlisted at Mackay and sailed for overseas in November, 1940.

Known as Jim he was born 19th Jan 1910 at nurse Heazlewood's hospital 7th son to Arthur John and Marion Selina (Tulloch) Heazlewood of Hatherleigh Farm, Springfield 5km south of Scottsdsale, Tasmania Joined in Mackay Nth Queensland on 26th May 1940 Killed in action at Elgazahalla Nth Libya 7th April Buried at Elpiete 8th April 1941 Reburied at Acroma, Cyrenaica War Cemetery January 1953
