Robert (known as Bob), funny, adventurous lad, loved to play the piano and sing with his friends. He joined the army but when the authorities found out he was under age made to resign. As soon as he was of age he joined the Australian Airforce and received his wings 14/12/1943. Bob was due to go to England with his Squadron the second week of February 1944 but sadly died in a night time flying exercise in Victoria 03/02/1944. The plane crashed and the three crew died.
Bob's family were notified of the crash and death but were not allowed to know where and what circumstances due to the war. His mother, father and sister were devastated.
