His parents were Francis William HOPGOOD & May Frances Berger LINDGREN
He married Margaret Warren NEWLANDS in Brisbane on 27th May, 1939

His brother Colin Vincent HOPGOOD also served during WW2 as a Captain in the 1st Signals, AIF (SN QX5304) and was discharged on 4th February, 1946
