Warrant Officer Donald Eric Hunt 423125 was the Wireless Operator / Air Gunner on board Sunderland aircraft DP178 from Number 4 (Coastal) Operational Training Unit (4OTU) RAF which was reported missing from a night training exercise approximately 75 miles south east of Sumburgh Head, Shetland Islands in the North Sea
Warrant Officer Hunt and the other crewmen are commemorated on the Runnymede (Air Forces) Memorial in Surrey, England
