LAC Jock Mackenzie Hutchinson 49238 and AC Vincent Thomas White 45541 of RAAF Number 20 Radio Direction Finding Station were drowned in Nelson Bay, NSW when their boat sank while they were out on a fishing trip
The body of LAC Hutchinson was recovered and he is buried in Newcastle (Sandgate) General Cemetery
The body of AC White was not recovered and he is commemorated on Panel 7 of the Sydney Memorial to the Missing
