Horatio arrived in Australia 1927. Married Ada Cole. Two children Margaret 1938 John 1939. Enlisted 8 July 1940 age 34. Unit 2/17 Btn. 9th Division. Left Sydney on Queen Mary 27 October 1940. Disembarked Egypt 23 November 1940. Wounded 25 September 1941 Tobruk. Wounded 21 October 1942 Battle of El Amein. Retuned to Australia 27 February 1943. Transferred to 2/1st Guard Battallion. Embarked Cairns 26 July 1943 . Desembarked Milne Bay New Guinea 30 July 1943. Died 26 February 1944 of Malaria.
