Biography contributed by Felicitas Moore

Aubrey enlisted at Claremont (Perth) and left Western Australia with the 2/16th Reinforcements on 7th November 1941 on board His Majesty’s Australian Transport “USB” (think this may have been misread and should have been “US13”).

He later met up with his eldest brother, David, in the Middle East.  David had Aubrey transferred into his unit - the South Australian raised 2/10th Battalion.  They served together for a short time in the Middle East and then later in New Guinea.

Aubrey was killed in action on Christmas Day 1942 at Buna, New Guinea, while fighting the Japanese.  David is believed to have been right beside him when this happened.
