Merton Bolton LAVERACK was born on 1st August, 1918 in Sydney
His parents were Cecil Bolton/Boulton LAVERACK and Mary Josephine MONAHAN who married in 1915 in Marrickville, Sydney
He enlisted on 22nd January, 1941 in Paddington and was with the Australian Army Medical Corp
His final posting was the 10 Australian General Hospital
Merton was taken as a Prisoner of War by the Japanese (date unknown) and died of illness in Changi, Malaya on 15th March, 1942
He is buried in Kranji War Cemetery, Singapore
