Sergeant Reginald Peter Leehy 412067 was the only RAAF crewman on board Mitchell Bomber N5-147 of Number 18 (Netherlands East Indies) Squadron when it was shot down by heavy A/A fire above Saumlaki in the Netherlands East Indies
The rest of the crew were Dutch Air Force, all KIA: Second Lieutenant L Bal / First Lieutenant P Kruijne / Ensign A B Andela / Sergeant C Van Ginkel 92736 / Sergeant F A Hoogveld 93750
