John was born as Jack Alister LOCKWOOD on 23rd December, 1919 in Geelong, Victoria - he was also known as John McAlister

His parents were John Porritt Hardman LOCKWOOD & Inez Alexandrina LAMONT who married in Perth, Western Australia in 1899

He enlisted in Point Cook, Victoria with the RAAF on 4th September, 1939

He married Mary Patricia (Betty) PERCY in Malaya

John died in a Flying Battle in Sumatra on 14th February, 1942 - no known grave and his death was presumed as he was missing

His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & the Singapore Memorial
