Murdock Ian Lochghair MacIVER was born in Bundaberg, Queensland on 27th September, 1924
His parents were Murdock MacIVER & Frances Maude HEAD who married in Queensland on 22nd December, 1920 - he was their only son
He enlisted in Brisbane on 7th April, 1943 & died on 6th June, 1945, aged 20 while serving in the RAAF at Parkes, NSW - he was in a Boomerang Aircraft No A46-7 (CA 12) during a gunnery practice exercise and crashed some seven miles north east of Parkes airstrip & burned out - he was with the 8 Operational Training Unit, General Duties branch of the Citizens Air Force
He is buried in the Parkes War Cemetery, Plot A, Row D, Grave 11 and his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial, the Roll of Honour in Mackay, Queensland & a roll of honour board at St Pauls Uniting Church in Mackay, Queensland
