Hampden Bomber P5325

Handley-Page Hampden medium bomber P5325

On 3 Apr 1942 a Hampden bomber from 455 Sqn (UB-B) RAAF on a gardening mission to the Quileron Bay area off the coast of France went missing. Aircraft last heard from at 23.38hrs,
Position, 48.53N 05.57W but did not return to base. Post war enquiries found no trace of the missing aircraft or crew. The crew are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.
