Flying Officer Granville Allen Mawer 403112 - son of Thomas Henry and Ella Agnes Mawer of Manly, NSW
452 Squadron RAAF Spitfire LZ314 (Mawer) & Spitfire EE677 (Adam) were involved in a mid-air collision over Manton Dam, NT with both pilots killed.
Flying Officer Mawer has an entry in the book "Those Other Eagles" by Christopher Shores (which refers to the other aircraft as JL314).
Mawer had previously (20 June 1943) crash-landed in aircraft BR548 after an engagement with a force of Japanese aircraft.
