SUDDEN DEATH - Collapse At South Grafton.

INQUEST TO BE HELD.

Robert Arthur McAliece, 36, a single man, whose home was in Chelton Valley, Victoria, died suddenly in South Grafton on Saturday afternoon.
At 1 p.m. on Saturday a phone call was received by a local hospital that a man was seriously ill at South Grafton. An ambulance was dispatched, but on arrival at the hospital at 1.20 p.m. it was found that the man was dead and it was estimated, had been dead for at least half an hour.
Deceased had been in hospital for three days in June, suffering from a sore throat, but had made a good recovery and had been discharged.
At 12.45 deceased had a light meal and appeared to be in his usual health. A few minutes later he was taken violently ill.
As the doctor who examined the body on arrival in Grafton had not seen deceased prior to death he could not give a certificate and notified the Deputy-Coroner and police. Later, a post-mortem was performed.
An inquest will be held next week. – The Daily Examiner, Grafton, issue dated Monday July 20, 1942.
