Aircraftman Enoch George McDonald 45173 and Leading Aircraftman William Henry Norman Veal 29740 were struck by Wirraway A20-127 of 14 Squadron RAAF while acting as Flare Path attendants at RAAF Base Pearce, WA - the aircraft veered to port on take-off before dawn on a lighted flarepath and collided with the two airmen killing them instantly
