Mr. and Mrs. J. A. McEwen of Hackett Terrace, have been advised by the Minister for the Army (Mr. F.M. Forde) that their son, Pte. Patrick Joseph Clifford McEwen (QX24894) is missing, believed killed, on April 24 1943.
Private Patrick Joseph Clifford McEwen is the son of William John Allan McEwen & Mary Cecilia McEwen nee Clifford of Charters Towers. He was born on 25th October 1917 in Hughenden, North Queensland. He enlisted in the A.I.F. Australian Infantry
1st January 1942 in Townsville, Queensland. He was posted to 2/7 Australian Infantry Battalion.
He was killed in New Guinea on 24th April 1943, aged 25. He is buried in Lae War Cemetery & Memorial, Plot S.A.9. Lae, Morobe, Papua New Guinea.
