Flight Lieutenant Kenneth George McKenzie 402101 of 99SQN was killed in a Motor Vehicle accident involving Service Vehicle (Jeep) Number 215358 about 10 Miles from Tocumwal
Kenneth George McKenzie was working for the RAAF as a Clerk when he enlisted as Air Crew on 27 May 1940 aged 23. As an Air Observer he spent time in Egypt attached to the RAF No 12 Squadron. After returning to Australia he received a commission and then deployed to Malta attached to 69 Squadron for strategic reconnaissance missions.
In June 1944 Kenneth returned to Australia and was stationed at Tocumwal with 7 OTU and 99 Squadron as a Navigation Instructor. On 12 December 1945 the jeep he was travelling in swerved to avoid another vehicle and rolled near Finley, Flight Lieutenant Mc Kenzie was critically injured and died shortly after.
