Arrived in Australia with his wife on ship Osterley in 1925.  Occupation Ploughman.

Survived by his wife Jemima and daughter Margaret, his father in Scotland and sisters Mrs Isabella Hynd and Mrs Grace Watson, Scotland.

Prisoner of War in Burma

27/6/1943    died of dysentry in POW Camp

buried in       Alepauk Prisoner of War cemetery, Alepauk, Burma (with Anderson Battalion, "A" Force)

later exhumed and reburied in:
                    Thanbyuzayat War Cemetery, Thanbyuzayat, Mon State, Myanmar

His name is commemorated on Panel 74 (incorrect); correct name placed on Supplementary panel 7
at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, ACT.
