He was 20 and the son of Francis Alfred and Eileen Miller, of North Essendon, Victoria, Australia.

He died of a fractured skull and lacerations of the brain caused by falling from a moving train onto the railway line in the Southern Railway tunnel at Higham in Kent.
The death certificate shows him as a resident of 30 Cranwell Avenue, Melbourne, Victoria.
