Orpen Boyd MORIARTY was born in Braidwood, NSW on 25th September, 1906
He was the only son of Nathaniel Stephen Powell MORIARTY & Isabella Lockhart Joan MOREHEAD who married in Sydney in 1906
He married Barbara Ierne (Biddy) GOFF in St James Anglican Church in Sydney on 26th November, 1927
Orpen was Killed in Action in Retima, Crete, Greece on 22nd May, 1941 and is buried in the Suda Bay War Cemetery

His Father Nathaniel Stephen Powell MORIARTY served as a Captain in the 41st Infantry Battalion during WW1 & returned to Australia but died a few years later
His Wife Barbara also served during WW2 (see link for details)
