Crashed when Piloting a Supermarine Spitfire Mk Vc (reg. EE727) when he missed his approach for Perranporth RAAF station, and was climbing away for a second attempt at landing, when the aircraft he was piloting hit an electricity pole and wires. Hitting the electricity pole caused the aircraft to stall, and then crash into a cottage in Trevellas where S & A.Walker and their son lived. Mr S.Walker did not appear to be at the scene as the aircraft crashed. Mrs A.Walker was left with injuries, whilst her son, Barry Walker (4 years) was killed. Barry is buried at St.Agnes Cemetery.
